Rock City Enterprises is a 93-year-old tourism and hospitality company in its fourth generation of ownership featuring the legendary Rock City Gardens atop Lookout Mountain, just six miles from downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee. In addition to Rock City Gardens, we steward a collection of beloved local brands and experiences including Chanticleer Inn Bed & Breakfast, Battles for Chattanooga, Grandview, and Starbucks on Lookout Mountain as well as Clumpies Ice Cream Co. and GOOD DOG. Rock City Enterprises also manages the retail shop and café at Creative Discovery Museum, and ticketing and concessions at the Incline Railway for CARTA.

Media Visits

We are happy to offer complimentary admission to Rock City Gardens or other RCE attractions for members of the media. Advance notice is required, and requests made with fewer than three days’ notice will not be considered. We appreciate receiving inquiries at least two weeks in advance so that we can tailor a visit to align with your assignment, goals and areas of interest.  

All media requests are thoughtfully reviewed by our team and are subject to availability and alignment with our brand and mission. To request a visit, please reach out to our team directly. See below for details.

Lodging Considerations

A limited number of complimentary or discounted stays at Chanticleer Inn Bed & Breakfast may be available for credentialed media covering our lodging experiences. Please submit your request at least four weeks in advance for consideration.

ice cream requests

Clumpies Ice Cream Co. is happy to share its delicious, handcrafted ice cream (made just nine gallons at a time!) with media personnel who are interested in learning more and sharing our story. Please reach out if you are interested in visiting one of three Chattanooga scoop shops, our production facility, or want to request a Pint Pack. 

Photo Shoots and Filming

Personal Photo Shoots

For personal photo shoots and photography usage (engagement shoots, senior pictures, etc), you do not need approval from the public relations team. For help with these inquiries please reach out to our guest relations team at (706) 820-2531.

  • All members of the group (guests and photographer) pay admission and visit during regular operating hours.

  • Drones are not allowed.

  • Everyone must stay on the marked pathways at all times (no going off trail).

  • Must not block or interfere with other guests’ visits.

  • No equipment larger than handheld cameras.

Commercial Photo Shoots & Filming

For commercial photo shoot and filming requests, please email pepper.raper@rockcityenterprises.com. Approval is required by the public relations manager and an escort is required to be with you during your visit. Rock City is an outdoor attraction, with a 4100-foot walking trail; If the crew can guarantee the trail will not be blocked for guests, it is possible to film during the park’s open hours.

Drone Requests

Rock City Enterprises limits drone usage across all properties to ensure safety, protect guest privacy and preserve the experience at all our destinations. Anyone intending to use a drone at RCE properties must first receive written approval from the Public Relations team. 

A small number of requests are considered each year, and each is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. All individuals or organizations applying for drone permission must: 

  • Hold a current FAA Remote Pilot Certificate 

  • Provide proof of liability insurance

Please note: Unapproved drone activity is strictly prohibited at all Rock City Enterprises locations. Unauthorized use of drones may result in removal from the premises and could be subject to further action.
